Esala was our tour guide across Sri Lanka for 15 days. He took us around to Annuradhapura, Sigiriya, Polonaruva, Kandy, Colombo, Ella, and Yala national park (not to mention the many pit stops along the way). Esala is very thoughtful and knowledgable and did his best to make the trip as memorable as possible for us (and it was!). He would contsnatly arrange things to best suit our needs even when he didn't ask him to! Most kindly, he took a detour to show us the Kandy War Cemetry where soldiers from the Second World War are buired (I am a WW2 researcher). I did not even know about the cemetry before he took us there. Esala's knowledge about the history of Sri Lanka is very extensive and it was definitely a learning experience for us as well. Usually you go to a place, see the sites, chill a bit and come back - but with Esala we really got to experience the history and the culture of the country. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Gazebo tours!
We have spent together 10 unforgettable days. Esala is very professional tour guide, a good driver and moreover a very friendly man. He showed to us almost all points of interests in Sri Lanka. He organized the tickets, tours, safari and hotels. He told us a stories on culture, history, food and religion. Thanks to his professional experience we were everywhere on time and we avoided any waste of time. All his advices were priceless, and now I can not imagine how could we see all these spots without Esala’s assistance. Esala showed us the places out of a regular tourist trails and provided us with other attractions which you can not find in any guide book, what was amazing. Esala picked us up from Negombo and we spent a lovely week touring the cultural triangle and hill country with him. He is a lovely person and we had a great time with him. He is happy to take you anywhere you wish to visit and knew so much about Sri Lankan history and culture that we learnt alot from him. It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for Esala and he was always punctual and willing to assist with any thing we needed. He even helped me get a local sim card for my phone and took us to some lovely local places to eat where the food was delicious and cheap. Esala will drive you safely in his airconditioned car and can recommend places to visit or else you just tell him where you want to go and what you want to do, and he will cheerfully oblige.
